… through the eyes of member Colleen Michael in Wenatchee, Washington. We asked Colleen about her church. Here’s what she had to share.
Question 1: How did YOU get connected to your congregation?
I got involved in WBBCU through a personal invitation.
Question 2: What is one thing that makes your congregation special?
Our outreach ministry to the residents/clients at the Drug/Alcohol Treatment center. Most Sundays we have 2-10 clients worshipping with us. Our other outreach ministries reach many parts of our community:
- Mustard Seed Child care center
- Garden Terrace Retirement Home
- Bus Ministry
- Weekly podcasts of Pastor David’s sermons
- CD delivery of our services to our shut-ins and any others who aren’t in service on any given Sunday
- Food Bank distribution point through Serve Wenatchee
- Drug and Alcohol Treatment center
Question 3: What is one of your favorite memories of your church, or a significant historical moment?
A significant historical moment was in 1929 when 5 families mortgaged their homes and orchards so construction could continue on the building.
